SpaceX Launch Scrubbed due to Helium Leak

Today’s launch of the Falcon 9 and Dragon capsule to the International Space Station has been scrubbed due to a first stage helium leak with almost an hour left in the countdown.

Weather was beautiful at Cape Canaveral with light clouds, warm temps and a cooling breeze, and after a 2:30 pm announcement that SpaceX and NASA had signed a 20 year agreement for the use of historic Launchpad 39A, including a planned first launch of Falcon Heavy early next year, maybe it was just too much for one day.

Whatever the case, eyes will now move to the weather forecast at Cape Canaveral for the next launch opportunity, which comes on Friday at 3:23 pm EDT. At the moment, it looks questionable with a 50/50 chance of rain.

Updates to come.
